29 Jan – 15 February 2025
Wood years are about accelerated growth, renewal, change, rebirth. This is the year to rise strategically, not race your way to the top. Wood element represents youth, vitality, kindness, growth and flexibility. It also encourages a deeper understanding, the spreading of peace, and the promotion of cooperation to fulfil the year of harmony, love and wisdom.
Key words
Metamorphosis, wisdom, intuition, introspection, mystery, intelligence, opportunity, renewal, growth, potential, inspiration, flexibility, challenges and opportunities, determination, objectivity, development of inner strength, subtle success, quiet prosperity, collaboration, innovation. Slow steady transformation.
Let go of your old habits and fixed ideas, be open to new ideas and suggestions from others, don’t dismiss them straight away. It’s a year to stay calm, be adaptable and flexible as you work towards your dreams and goals, be patient, trust the process.
Business could involve more travel this year. Networking remains a popular way to connect, this year attend more face-to-face meetings rather than just online. Be prepared to pivot as soon as you need to, there will be constant changes to the marketplace, the way it works, the technology involved etc, stay up to date as much as you can. Be patient, success is a slow burn this year but you will get there, persistence is key. Ensure you have good support for the stressful times.
It’s an excellent time to start new projects, explore new opportunities and make some big changes in your life. Be strategic and plan carefully, move with purpose and precision. Relinquish what no longer serves you so that you can evolve.
A Snake year rewards those who think ahead, stay calm under pressure, and strike only when the timing is perfect, summon your inner strategist. It’s time to play the long game and build something solid from the ground up. Sometimes the best moves are the ones made quietly, when others least expect them.
Shadow
Snakes can be charming, manipulative, dishonest, sly, ambitious, determined, secretive, jealous, will take advantage, cheats, libel, slander, disputes, watch your back at work. Don’t be seduced by anyone who seems to speak the same ‘language’ as you – not just romantically this applies to all areas of your life. Take your time getting to know new people, check out any offers thoroughly and don’t be rushed into anything unless you feel you have had time to think about it and your heart and gut are telling you it feels right.
Actions
Continue to clear clutter on every level of your life and Being.
Put those dreams and goals down on paper, and create a plan of how you will manifest them. Write down your step by step, month by month, week by week plan.
Evolve yourself, read more, sign up for courses, anything that will stretch you, especially spiritually.
FENG SHUI for 2025 Wood Snake year
In Feng Shui we are now in Period 9 which spans from 2024-2043 and corresponds to the element of Fire. This period brings more attention to spirituality, enlightenment and advancements in technology. It is an era characterized by dynamic change, innovation and a big leap forward in civilization.
Snakes shed their skin, so this is the ideal time to throw away anything out of date, anything that doesn’t fit you anymore or doesn’t suit you anymore. In fact, on every level of your Being, shed what you no longer need.
Spring clean, clear clutter, keep paths and doorways clean, bright and clear and put a new doormat down (but not with your family name on it otherwise you are inviting people to walk all over you). Metal ornaments will help balance the excessive wood energy of the year.
Health
Look after your heart – there is a lot of fire energy around this year. Improve your diet and exercise regimes, yoga and Tai Chi are especially good this year as they help to calm all that nervous energy down. Also look after your head, reduce stress as much as possible so that you keep your blood pressure down, take care of your eyes too. Look after lungs and large intestine also.
Keep the centre of the home as clear, clutter free and clean as possible as the illness star resides there all year. Your health is your future prosperity. Add metal elements such as ornaments, bowls or bells and/or white, silver, gold colours. A gold Wu Lou (gourd) would enhance wellness.
Plants
Snakes are associated with plants that grow quickly and spread, such as vines, grasses, flowers and weeds. Rather than kill the ivy in your garden embrace it during Snake year and use it to decorate your home. Plant some decorative grasses or attractive herbs that grow and spread such as Goldenrod, Mallow etc.
Indoors: Place a plant with rounded green leaves in your office such as a jade plant aka money plant, it will represent slow steady growth in wealth and health.
The Wood Snake likes sunshine so get outside as often as you can this year. The Wood Snake can also withstand strong winds representing the flexibility and adaptability to the changes that will happen for all of us this year, there’s no avoiding it, so you might as well go with the wind and see where it takes you.
Crystals
Black obsidian for protection and grounding. Amethyst for maintaining harmony and balance.
Lucky Colours
Gold and yellow to represent wealth, also green (represents health, wealth and growth), blue especially dark blue (represents water which is a wealth colour in Feng Shui), teal.
Directions
North is problematic, North East and North West also. Avoid major building works or noisy renovations in both the North, North West and North East areas, and that includes not slamming doors. Place metal elements here and white, silver and gold colours.
Avoid renovations in the East also if you can. Remember to lock doors and windows when leaving the house especially during the summer months.
South is positive and beneficial – victory, heavenly help, wealth. Keep these areas clean and tidy and place gold ornaments and/or gold coloured items here, also real plants and flowers. However, avoid anything red here and no candles in this sector.
West add water elements, black and blue colours, laughing Buddha for harmony, lucky bamboo.
🐍 Chinese New Year tips 🐍
🏮Spring clean, clear clutter etc., as mentioned above, then use some incense to bless each area of your home, you can say prayers and blessings for your home and its occupants as you do this. (All this must be done well before Chinese New Year starts).
🏮Don’t use knives or scissors on the first day of Chinese New Year, this is seen as cutting your good fortune before it’s had time to arrive, can also cause you to be ‘snippy’ with people on what should be a day of celebration. Avoid getting your hair cut on that day.
🏮Wear something new and/or red (avoid white or black).
🏮Don’t do any housework especially sweeping or clothes washing.
🏮Avoid talking about last year’s hardships or you will bring that energy into your new year. Speak positively and think positively, it’s a new start, a new beginning.
🏮A fun thing to do is to roll 9 oranges into your home at Chinese New Year, (you are rolling abundance into your home, Stand at your open front door and gently but firmly roll them into the home), then place them in a beautiful bowl on your dining room or kitchen table.
Gong xi fa cai y’all!
