NEW MOON in VIRGO
After the intensity of August and the curveballs that caused a few shockwaves for some of us, we are now in a month that will help us to start to make sense of what happened in August and shine a light on the way forward. It will probably take until the middle of the month for things to settle and fully ease.
It’s a New Moon in Virgo. Earthy, practical and precise Virgo likes things done properly as they are the organisers of the zodiac. People are drawn to their calm, capable, likeable personalities and their great sense of humour. They are devoted to those they love. On the shadow side they can be hypercritical if people/situations do not come up to their own high standards. They are loyal friends and humble, not realising how lovely and talented they truly are. Animals love them too. They have a natural affinity with plants and many Virgos are drawn to herbalism. They need to ensure no-one abuses their kindness and practicality by treating them like doormats. This New Moon Virgo is one where the mouse will roar!
We can all learn from Virgo and implement Virgo’s practicality and organisation into our lives. It’s a great time to declutter – what’s messy? How’s that understairs cupboard or that full drawer, the garage or the basement? How can you simplify and make life/work easier for yourself?
And it’s not just our physical environment but also whatever is outdated and no longer works, including old beliefs, old habits and stale old routines. Like the Autumn leaves, what you no longer need will start to fall away now.
It’s a great moon for inner child work as it’s time to leave the past where it is and bring your adult self fully into your life now. (I do this type of work with clients and have seen the powerful shifts that occur).
Be open to new ways of doing things and don’t immediately dismiss what someone might suggest, as it might be the solution you’ve been looking for.
Virgo is an Earth sign and spending time in Nature will help to ground any excess energies that you have. If you have a problem, there is nothing quite like walking it out in a lovely location.
Gather seasonal leaves, berries and plants and make an Autumn mandala or a mobile of leaves that you can hang from a twig you find.
Tap into your creativity this month and see it soar.
Wear Autumn colours and draw strength from them.
Virgo reminds us to take care of our health, this is especially important right now with the Covid rates rising every day. Also seasonal changes bring seasonal colds, so remember to protect your throat with a light scarf if there is a chill in the wind. Stay hydrated, get moving and eat well with the lovely root veggies that keep us grounded.
Virgo reminds us to keep Mother Earth and Her inhabitants in our prayers. With so much going on all over the world, we need to keep sending light and healing to all those affected by recent events. We need to honour and respect the precious corner of Earth that we are privileged to live on.
The most exciting thing about this New Moon is the new beginnings it offers all of us and especially for all you Virgos out there. There is a feeling in the air of being given a chance to rewrite the story of our lives, to boldly go where we have never gone before, to take that leap we’ve wanted to take. This is the month to just effing do it! This is a month for making changes and doing.
There is a lot of positive energy around this New Moon and we may get the urge to be more spontaneous and do something different or new. So many of us seem to have been in limbo these past couple of years and developed new ruts that are comfortable. Now is the time to step out of them and step up for yourself and your life. Although we are in the Autumn season, this particular New Moon encourages growth of the positive kind.
NEW MOON RITUAL – New Life Plan
You will need:
Candle, this year’s and next year’s calendar or diary, pen, paper.
- Create a quiet space for yourself.
- Light your candle and focusing on its flame, take a few deep breaths and release them.
- Continue focusing on your breath until you feel more centred and meditative.
- Have a look at next year’s calendar and write down on your piece of paper, one thing that you would like to happen for each month of next year.
- Take your time, there’s no rush. And if you can’t think of anything for one month, you can always go back to it.
- Have a look at the remainder of this year’s calendar or diary, and write one thing that you would like to happen for October, November and December.
- What steps can you take today to start the process that will enable what you want to happen? Have a think and write it all down, you can always add more later.
- In what way can you create a new Life Plan for yourself? What will you change? What will you let go of? What will you introduce? What will you commit to for yourself? When will you start?
- When you feel that you have written as much as you can, with your hands waft some of the candlelight over the pages and your calendars/diaries.
You can then either sit in meditation or visualise all of those things manifesting for you.
- When you feel the energy start to fade, blow your candle out dedicating the light to someone/somewhere that needs it, and waft the smoke up to the Universe by spiraling it with your hand. (Never just snuff out a candle).
- Commit to reading and re-reading these lists often over the coming months so that you can add even more.
Let me know how you get on!
New Moon and New Life Plan Blessings to you all!
Elly xx
