New Moon in Aquarius
artist unknown
It’s the first New Moon of the year in Aquarius and it’s a super moon. Aquarius is the maverick of the zodiac; they’re the ones who see things differently. Known for their eccentricity, they bring uniqueness and a different perspective to the world, which is much needed. They are authentic and don’t easily tolerate those who are not. Their goal is freedom and they’re interested in creating communities that help humanity to live in a better way. They’re also usually great with tech such as computers and media communication.
It’s also the start of Chinese New Year – more on that further down.
This New Moon is about renewal and fresh starts. You might want to take a look at the goals/resolutions you may have written down at the start of the year. Do these need changing and updating? You have shifted since the start of the month, so have a think about what you really do want for your year ahead.
This will be a year of transformation for many of us; this New Moon will bring clarity about the way forward and any decisions that need to be made. Expect the unexpected as curveballs and surprises may land when you least expect them. Interestingly, my word for the 2023 is ‘metamorphosis’ so yikes, I’d better be prepared!
This New Moon takes the brakes off, it’s time to go, go, go with our dreams, goals and desires. No more planning or procrastinating, it’s time to get on with it. The energy is pushing us forward for the next three months to get us out there, so make the most of the first quarter of this year, utilize the energies we are being gifted with.
Whilst doing this, have a think about how you can help humanity and your local and wider communities. When people get together, mountains can be moved.
Aquarius encourages us to walk tall and hold our heads high, not afraid to show the world who we are or what we can offer. Aquarius encourages uniqueness and authenticity so make sure that you are truly walking your talk. Be who you are. If others don’t like it, then you don’t need them on your pathway.
Other astrology:
Planets that were retrograde made us feel a bit stuck, as if we were being held back. They now start to move forward again, allow a couple more weeks for them to settle, by the end of January things will start moving again in a much better way.
2023 Year of the Water Rabbit: It’s okay to breathe out
The intensity and hardships of last year will start to fade as we enter the year of the tender and diplomatic Rabbit. We can finally exhale and look forward to a gentler year ahead as the Rabbit brings hope. It’s a year to enjoy more relaxation and quiet time after the busyness of 2022.
The Rabbit in Chinese Astrology is also a symbol of longevity, peace and prosperity. It is known for its ability to solve problems creatively – our intuition is more heightened this year - and adapt to changing circumstances. 2023 is a good year for seeking new opportunities, and to take advantage of networking opportunities and building relationships.
Rabbit’s gentle, loving energy will also help you to build stronger connections with those you love and work colleagues, as Rabbit is known for its ability to create and maintain harmonious relationships.
It’s a good year for focusing on improving your finances and income and there is great potential to increase prosperity, however be vigilant to scams and frauds, Rabbit energy could make you too trusting, check everyone and everything out thoroughly before proceeding. Be disciplined with your finances, don’t overspend, create a budget and stick to it.
It’s a great year for creativity and art, give yourself permission to take up a new creative hobby and tap into the creative energy to help you with your projects, dreams and goals.
Bring the softness of Rabbit energy into your home with pastel/warm colours, natural materials, plants and stone, soft lighting. Make your home a warm, soft, welcoming, gentle space to be in.
Self-care is a priority this year especially when you get busy. The Health star warning features for several signs in the Chinese zodiac this year and we should all pay attention to this.
Eat well, rest well especially getting plenty of sleep, and get an exercise routine built into each day and week.
The better we look after ourselves this year, the better we will be able to take advantage of and handle the new opportunities waiting to come in for us this year.
This year is fast paced and filled with change, so be prepared to adapt and make changes on the fly. We need to be adaptable and respond to the changes that can happen very quickly.
